Guadalupe Morales Cano has a degree in Journalism. She worked more than 15 years in the Spanish national media. Graduated in Library Science and Biblioteconomy, and Master courses of Spanish and Latin American Literature at the University of California.
Advocacy in Mental Health
After being diagnosed with a mental health problem, and losing her job as a journalist, because of that, Mrs. Morales promoted the creation of Fundación Mundo Bipolar (2004) and is the Director. This organization is a non-profit national NGO for people with lived experience that fights for the rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities, based on the UN Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Has a very intense activity in Spain and in the Europe Union
-Board Member of WAPR (World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation), representing users, and member of the Training Committee
-Vice President of ENUSP (European Network of (ex-) Users and Survivors of Psychiatry)
-Member of the Human Rights Committee of (MHE) Mental Health Europe, the Stigma Section of (World Psychiatry Association) and of the Women´s Committee of European Disability Forum
